Created with the support of the European Union and the Walloon Region, the IBMM ( Institute of Molecular Biology and Medicine) is devoted mainly to research. More than 200 Belgian and foreign researchers from the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine of the Université libre de Bruxelles explore the multiple facets of the living being.

The main themes at the IBMM are functional genomics, the relations host/parasites, developmental biology, bioinformatics and evolution.
