Fruit of an innovative partnership between the Université libre de Bruxelles and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, with the support of the Walloon Region, the IMI (Institute for Medical Immunology) consists of 6 research groups whose complementary themes have been defined so as to form a coherent whole, with a critical mass in two major fields of medical immunology: vaccines and transplants. The IMI realizes research programs in the development of new strategies of immunotherapy for transplants’ rejections, autoimmune illnesses and allergies, in the definition of new vaccine strategies applicable to the human newborn and in the setting up of new tests allowing the evaluation of security and efficiency of vaccines. |
